SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 307
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Thompson Brewer McLeod for achieving the rank of
Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, This exemplary young man is a member of Scouts BSA
Troop 51 in Jackson, Mississippi; he recently joined the elite
corps of Eagles and received the coveted Eagle Badge at a Court of
Honor; and
WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor and only a
small percentage of participants in the Scouts BSA program attain
the rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and
promise, Thompson advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot,
Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle
Scout; and
WHEREAS, Thompson displayed impressive leadership through
planning, developing, and conducting a service project that
benefited the Dallas community; for his project, he organized and
facilitated the "Equal Footing for the Homeless Sock and Shoe
Drive," which resulted in the collection and donation of more
than 800 footwear items to local non-profit organizations; he is
truly a shining example to his fellow Scouts and the young people
of Texas; and
WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Thompson has brought
great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and
his state; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
Legislature, hereby commend Thompson McLeod on receiving this
prestigious honor and congratulate him on his outstanding
achievement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Eagle Scout McLeod as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
