| 6 | 6 | | memories of Wayne Skidmore Condie of El Paso, who passed away on |

| 7 | 7 | | December 8, 2022, at the age of 69; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of Lyman Wilson Condie and Mary Louise |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Skidmore, Wayne Condie was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | June 3, 1953, and he grew up with the companionship of eight |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | siblings; he graduated from Highland High School in 1971, and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | from 1972 to 1974, he served as a missionary in Japan; on October |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 31, 1974, he met his future wife, Denise, and the couple |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | exchanged wedding vows on September 18, 1975; they became the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | proud parents of four children, Heather, Jacob, Rachel, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Melissa, and they later welcomed seven grandchildren into their |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | family; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In 1978, Mr. Condie graduated from the University |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | of Utah with a master's degree in business administration, and he |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | went on to enjoy a rewarding career in the banking and finance |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | industry; in retirement, he and his wife traveled the world, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | visiting 55 countries across 6 continents; his favorite leisure |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | activities included watching college football, reading about |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | history, and assembling jigsaw puzzles; above all else, he |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | delighted in spending time with his family; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Sustained by a deep faith, Mr. Condie was a |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ, and he loved |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | sharing the gospel with others; he gave generously of his time to |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | teach at the local prison, and he also served as an instructor for |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | the Pathway program, as a temple worker in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | and as a volunteer with the church's employment resource |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | services; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Condie lived a rich and purposeful life |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | centered around his faith and his family, and he will long be |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; now, |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | therefore, be it |

| 37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |

| 38 | 38 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Wayne Skidmore |

| 39 | 39 | | Condie and extend profound sympathy to the members of his family: |

| 40 | 40 | | to his wife, Lanea Denise Ford; to his children, Heather Allen |

| 41 | 41 | | and her husband, Clayton, Jacob Condie and his wife, Ali, Rachel |
