2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	7		recognize Teresa Jasso Moreno on her distinguished career and on
4	8		her outstanding service as assistant to Senator Royce West over
5	9		the past three decades; and

12	16		WHEREAS, Born on February 20, 1962, in Piedras Negras,
13	17		Coahuila, Mexico, Teresa moved with her mother and sisters to
14	18		Central Texas in 1966 to join her father in the Waco area on the
15	19		farm where he worked; after attending elementary school in
16	20		Rosebud, Teresa moved to Dallas with her family in 1971; she
17	21		graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and went on to earn an
18	22		associate degree in paralegal studies from El Centro College; and
19	23		WHEREAS, Teresa worked as a paralegal for an attorney and
20	24		for a judge before accepting a position with the staff of Senator
21	25		West; throughout her service to the office, Teresa has been noted
22	26		for her conscientiousness, efficiency, and commitment to
23	27		excellence in fulfilling her responsibilities; she has done much
24	28		to create a productive and rewarding work environment in both the
25	29		law office and senate office of Senator West, and she plays an
26	30		indispensible role in maintaining both offices' seamless
27	31		operation and a spirit of camaraderie among staff; and
28	32		WHEREAS, Outside of her professional endeavors, Teresa is
29	33		active in a number of community organizations and has served as a
30	34		member of the Dallas Arboretum Board and of the Hispanic 100 in
31	35		addition to serving as president of the Hispanic Women's Network
32	36		of Texas; Teresa is a devoted wife to her husband of 36 years,
33	37		Robert, with whom she shares two children, Nicholas and Sabrina,
34	38		and she is blessed with seven grandchildren who are a source of
35	39		great joy and who enrich her life immeasurably; and
36	40		WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, Teresa is beloved by her
37	41		current and former colleagues, and she is an invaluable asset to
38	42		Senator West as a member of his staff; her diligence and
39	43		dedication to her work have set a lasting standard, and she is
40	44		truly deserving of recognition for her years of faithful service
41	45		as assistant to Senator West; now, therefore, be it
42	46		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
43	47		Legislature, hereby commend Teresa Moreno on her loyal service to
44	48		the office of Senator Royce West and extend to her
45	49		congratulations on the 30th anniversary of her employment with
46	50		the office and best wishes for continued success in her work and
47	51		in all of her endeavors; and, be it further
48	52		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
49	53		her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
