SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 34 In Memory of Betty Rinehart WHEREAS, A caring and purposeful life drew to a close with the passing of Betty Sue McCaslin Rinehart of Tyler on November 19, 2021, at the age of 79; and WHEREAS, The daughter of Lee Earl McCaslin and Juanita Pruett McCaslin, Betty Rinehart was born in Tyler on February 6, 1942; she attended Robert E. Lee High School and continued her education at Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas at Tyler; over the course of her career, she served as a legal secretary for U.S. District Judge William Steger; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Rinehart enjoyed a rewarding marriage with her husband, Charles Rinehart, that spanned 58 years; a woman of faith, she was a valued congregant of Grace Community Church in Tyler; in her leisure time, she enjoyed playing golf; and WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in this esteemed woman's love and friendship will always remember her with great admiration and affection; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Betty Sue McCaslin Rinehart and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her husband, Charles Rinehart; to her sister, Clara Nell Miller; to her brothers, Gilbert Lee McCaslin and Billy Travis McCaslin; to her nieces and nephews; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Betty Rinehart.
