| 11 | 12 | | the Year Award is presented annually to both an adult and youth |

| 12 | 13 | | volunteer in the Midland County community; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Coates is a senior at Ignite Christian Academy, |

| 14 | 15 | | and he has served as a Midland Teen Court attorney since his |

| 15 | 16 | | freshman year; in the course of his work with the program, he has |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | helped mentor fellow court attorneys, and he has gained valuable |

| 17 | 18 | | knowledge of the judicial system; this outstanding young Texan has |

| 18 | 19 | | further distinguished himself by assisting children with special |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | needs as a swim instructor at COM Aquatics, and he has taken part in |

| 20 | 21 | | a mission trip to Swaziland and South Africa, where he volunteered |

| 21 | 22 | | his time at an orphanage; moreover, he is vice president of the |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | National Home School Honor Society; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Inspiring others through his exemplary civic |

| 24 | 25 | | engagement, Colton Coates has made a lasting, positive difference |

| 25 | 26 | | in his community, and he is indeed deserving of this most recent |
