| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Residents are gathering on November 5, 2023, for the |

| 6 | 6 | | annual Flower Mound Veterans Day Ceremony; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The event is taking place at Flower Mound High |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | School, and activities include a family picnic and a veterans |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | review, where members of local boys' and girls' scouting troops and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | ROTC units will parade in uniform; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Ceremonies will continue on November 10 with the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Veterans Day Relay Run, an event in which citizens and former |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | members of the military, including those representing the Flower |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Mound Police and Fire Departments, run portions of a 31.8-mile |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | route while carrying the U.S. flag; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | men and women who have put their lives on the line in defense of our |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | safety and freedom, and the Flower Mound Veterans Day Ceremony is a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | fitting tribute to their sacrifice and dedication to duty; now, |

| 20 | 20 | | therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 2023 Flower |
