R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Residents are gathering on November 5, 2023, for the
annual Flower Mound Veterans Day Ceremony; and
WHEREAS, The event is taking place at Flower Mound High
School, and activities include a family picnic and a veterans
review, where members of local boys' and girls' scouting troops and
ROTC units will parade in uniform; and
WHEREAS, Ceremonies will continue on November 10 with the
Veterans Day Relay Run, an event in which citizens and former
members of the military, including those representing the Flower
Mound Police and Fire Departments, run portions of a 31.8-mile
route while carrying the U.S. flag; and
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to the
men and women who have put their lives on the line in defense of our
safety and freedom, and the Flower Mound Veterans Day Ceremony is a
fitting tribute to their sacrifice and dedication to duty; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 2023 Flower
Mound Veterans Day Ceremony and extend to all those in attendance
sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable event.
