 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The observance of GO TEXAN Year in 2024 provides a
 welcome opportunity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Texas
 Department of Agriculture GO TEXAN program and its success in
 promoting Texas agricultural products within the state, across the
 country, and around the world; and
 WHEREAS, Texas leads the nation in number of farms and
 ranches, and agriculture is the state's second largest industry,
 contributing over 4.3 million jobs and $159 billion in direct
 economic impact; and
 WHEREAS, The GO TEXAN program supports local agriculture,
 economic growth, consumer awareness, and sustainability, while
 also promoting the state's distinctive culture and culinary
 offerings; GO TEXAN partners with agricultural producers,
 commodity organizations, cooperatives, service providers, and
 small businesses with the goal of showcasing products, services,
 and companies that are Texas made and Texas proud; currently, the
 initiative encompasses 2,040 partners across the state, of which
 96.5 percent would recommend the program to a friend or colleague;
 and
 WHEREAS, Over the past quarter century, the GO TEXAN program
 has provided vital support to the state's farming and ranching
 businesses, and it is indeed deserving of recognition for its many
 achievements; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 25th
 anniversary of the Texas Department of Agriculture GO TEXAN program
 and honor all those associated with the initiative and with Texas
 agriculture during this milestone year; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the program as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
