| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The varsity chorale ensemble of Timberview High |

| 6 | 6 | | School in the Mansfield Independent School District has been |

| 7 | 7 | | invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York on March 17, 2024; |

| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious honor is awarded to only a few |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | choirs each year, and it will be the varsity chorale's first ever |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | concert out of state; during the event, the group will perform |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Mozart's Requiem; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The Timberview High varsity chorale is an auditioned |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | choir for students in the 10th through 12th grades; to become a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | member of the ensemble, students must demonstrate an advanced level |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of vocal technique, sight-reading skills, and performance |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | practices; in addition to performing, students compete in contests |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and learn elements of music theory; the group benefits from the able |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | leadership of Jason Forte, the director of choirs; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Through their talent, hard work, and commitment to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | excellence, the young singers of the Timberview High School varsity |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | chorale have earned their way to an event of enormous prestige, and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | their achievement is a great credit to Mansfield ISD and a source of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | pride to their families, friends, and fellow students; now, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Timberview High School varsity chorale ensemble on being invited to |

| 29 | 29 | | perform at Carnegie Hall in New York and extend to its members |
