| 4 | 4 | | 2023 State Fair of Texas' 75th annual Big Tex Youth Livestock |

| 5 | 5 | | Auction on October 6, 2023; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The State Fair's Youth Livestock competitions |

| 7 | 7 | | annually draw thousands of exhibitors, and each one is competing |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | for a coveted spot in the Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction; the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | auction rewards young Texas 4-H and FFA members for their hard |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | work and dedication, and a portion of the bids also benefits the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Big Tex Scholarship Program; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hale and his 1,397-pound crossbred steer, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Bryce, competed against 423 other exhibitors at this year's Youth |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Market Steer Show, and after winning the grand champion title, he |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | sold Bryce for a record $160,000 at the auction; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A 15-year-old sophomore in the Miami Independent |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | School District, Mr. Hale has demonstrated outstanding |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | commitment and ability in raising his champion animal; he has |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | been showing steers for the past eight years; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has brought great |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | pride to his family and community, and he is indeed deserving of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Jett Hale |

| 25 | 25 | | on showing the grand champion youth market steer at the 75th |

| 26 | 26 | | annual Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction and extend to him sincere |
