| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Proud members of the Mount Pleasant Lions Club are |

| 3 | 3 | | celebrating the 75th anniversary of their organization's |

| 4 | 4 | | founding in 2023; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Chartered in 1948, the Mount Pleasant Lions Club |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | serves the greater Mount Pleasant community under the umbrella of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service club |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | organization with 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | across the globe; guided by the motto "We Serve," members |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | volunteer their time to benefit their communities, meet |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | humanitarian needs, and promote peace and international |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | understanding; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The Mount Pleasant Lions have contributed to many |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | worthy initiatives over the years, including supporting Texas |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Lions Camp and the local food pantry, paying for vision screeners |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and eye exams, and providing scholarships for area youth; club |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | members have also participated in numerous service projects, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | such as constructing pavilions at Town Lake Park, the Fair Park |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Baseball Complex, and the county park at Lake Bob Sandlin; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, True to its mission, the Mount Pleasant Lions Club |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | has made a lasting and positive difference in the lives of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | countless individuals, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | organization on this special milestone; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 75th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | anniversary of the Mount Pleasant Lions Club and extend to its |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | members sincere appreciation for their dedicated service to the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | community; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | prepared for the Mount Pleasant Lions Club as an expression of |
|---|
