SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 42
WHEREAS, Proud members of the Mount Pleasant Lions Club are
celebrating the 75th anniversary of their organization's
founding in 2023; and
WHEREAS, Chartered in 1948, the Mount Pleasant Lions Club
serves the greater Mount Pleasant community under the umbrella of
Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service club
organization with 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries
across the globe; guided by the motto "We Serve," members
volunteer their time to benefit their communities, meet
humanitarian needs, and promote peace and international
understanding; and
WHEREAS, The Mount Pleasant Lions have contributed to many
worthy initiatives over the years, including supporting Texas
Lions Camp and the local food pantry, paying for vision screeners
and eye exams, and providing scholarships for area youth; club
members have also participated in numerous service projects,
such as constructing pavilions at Town Lake Park, the Fair Park
Baseball Complex, and the county park at Lake Bob Sandlin; and
WHEREAS, True to its mission, the Mount Pleasant Lions Club
has made a lasting and positive difference in the lives of
countless individuals, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor the
organization on this special milestone; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 75th
anniversary of the Mount Pleasant Lions Club and extend to its
members sincere appreciation for their dedicated service to the
community; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for the Mount Pleasant Lions Club as an expression of
high regard from the Texas Senate.
