| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |

| 7 | 7 | | mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Cecil and Wilma |

| 8 | 8 | | Halfmann of St. Lawrence celebrated this joyous milestone in their |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | marriage on October 14, 2023; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Halfmann were joined in matrimony in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1953 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen; over the years, they |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | have been blessed with a treasured family that includes their 10 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | children, 30 grandchildren, and 59 great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Mrs. Halfmann retired from farming in 1995, and their many hobbies |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | have included dancing, gardening, and playing dominoes and cards; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | in addition, Mr. Halfmann took up woodworking in his retirement, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and Mrs. Halfmann is an avid quilter who also takes pleasure in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | baking and playing bunco; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Halfmann have enjoyed seven decades of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Cecil and Wilma Halfmann on |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Halfmann as an expression of high regard |
|---|
