55 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
66 WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
77 mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Cecil and Wilma
88 Halfmann of St. Lawrence celebrated this joyous milestone in their
99 marriage on October 14, 2023; and
1010 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Halfmann were joined in matrimony in
1111 1953 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen; over the years, they
1212 have been blessed with a treasured family that includes their 10
1313 children, 30 grandchildren, and 59 great-grandchildren; and
1414 WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and
1515 Mrs. Halfmann retired from farming in 1995, and their many hobbies
1616 have included dancing, gardening, and playing dominoes and cards;
1717 in addition, Mr. Halfmann took up woodworking in his retirement,
1818 and Mrs. Halfmann is an avid quilter who also takes pleasure in
1919 baking and playing bunco; and
2020 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Halfmann have enjoyed seven decades of
2121 abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
2222 exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
2323 commitment; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas,
2525 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Cecil and Wilma Halfmann on
2626 their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
2727 wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Halfmann as an expression of high regard
3030 by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
