| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jennifer East has been honored as the 2023 Nurse |

| 6 | 6 | | Practitioner of the Year by the Southeast Texas Nurse |

| 7 | 7 | | Practitioners; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award is |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | presented to an individual who demonstrates exceptional clinical |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | skill, compassion for patients, and commitment to advancing the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | practice of nursing; Ms. East works as a nurse practitioner and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | endocrinology specialist at Riceland Healthcare in Nederland, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | where she has gone above and beyond to provide clients with the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | highest standards of care; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ms. East previously received the Nurse Practitioner |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of the Year honor in 2015 and was also presented with the 2017 |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Community Service Award; her many other accolades include being |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | voted "Best of the Best" in her field by the Beaumont Enterprise in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 2021; in addition to her clinical responsibilities, she has held |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the offices of president, community affairs director, and treasurer |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | of the Southeast Texas Nurse Practitioners and served as regional |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | representative for the statewide Texas Nurse Practitioners |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | organization in 2014 and 2015; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Jennifer East has distinguished herself as an |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | outstanding role model for her peers in the nursing community, and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | she may indeed take great pride in her receipt of this prestigious |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | honor; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Jennifer East |
