H.R. No. 90
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jennifer East has been honored as the 2023 Nurse
Practitioner of the Year by the Southeast Texas Nurse
Practitioners; and
WHEREAS, The Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award is
presented to an individual who demonstrates exceptional clinical
skill, compassion for patients, and commitment to advancing the
practice of nursing; Ms. East works as a nurse practitioner and
endocrinology specialist at Riceland Healthcare in Nederland,
where she has gone above and beyond to provide clients with the
highest standards of care; and
WHEREAS, Ms. East previously received the Nurse Practitioner
of the Year honor in 2015 and was also presented with the 2017
Community Service Award; her many other accolades include being
voted "Best of the Best" in her field by the Beaumont Enterprise in
2021; in addition to her clinical responsibilities, she has held
the offices of president, community affairs director, and treasurer
of the Southeast Texas Nurse Practitioners and served as regional
representative for the statewide Texas Nurse Practitioners
organization in 2014 and 2015; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer East has distinguished herself as an
outstanding role model for her peers in the nursing community, and
she may indeed take great pride in her receipt of this prestigious
honor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Jennifer East
on her selection as the 2023 Nurse Practitioner of the Year by the
Southeast Texas Nurse Practitioners and extend to her sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. East as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
