SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Isaac McAllen for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, This fine young man has joined the elite corps of Eagles, and he recently received the coveted Eagle Badge at his Court of Honor held on October 22, 2023; and WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only a small percentage of boys in the Boy Scouts of America program attain the rank of Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and promise, Isaac advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, This personable young man displayed leadership through planning, developing, and conducting a service project that benefited his community; for his project, he created an outdoor classroom for Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church and School in Edinburg during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic that allowed the school to safely provide in-person classes to the children of families of first responders, medical staff, and teachers; and WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Isaac has brought great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and his state; he is truly a shining example to his fellow Scouts and to the young people of Texas; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Isaac McAllen on receiving this prestigious honor and congratulate him on his outstanding achievement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Eagle Scout Isaac McAllen as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
