5+ SENATE RESOLUTION
26 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
37 recognize the Holocaust Remembrance Association in honor of the
48 opening of the Holocaust Garden of Hope in Kingwood on
59 November 5, 2023; and
610 WHEREAS, The Holocaust Remembrance Association is a
711 nonprofit educational organization based in Kingwood that was
812 formed on January 27, 2019, by Jewish descendants of Holocaust
913 survivors and their Christian allies; the association seeks to
1014 sensitize hearts to the history of the Holocaust and to encourage
1115 people to stand against the evils of antisemitism, persecution,
1216 prejudice, and indifference to suffering; and
1317 WHEREAS, In the early 20th century, the Jewish people
14- endured a horrific genocide at the hands of the Nazis, led by Adolf
15- Hitler under the Third Reich; the history of antisemitism on the
16- European continent created an atmosphere of intolerance and a
17- disregard for ethnic violence targeting the Jewish people, and the
18- unwillingness of the international community to condemn the Nazi
19- regime allowed for the escalation of the Nazis' influence and
20- control in perpetuating the extermination of Jewish life; and
18+ endured a horrific genocide at the hands of the Nazis, led by
19+ Adolf Hitler under the Third Reich; the history of antisemitism
20+ on the European continent created an atmosphere of intolerance

2227 renew the historical memory of this tragic event and the lives it
2328 claimed and to promote education, healing, reconciliation, and
24- understanding between the Jewish people and other communities; and

2531 WHEREAS, The Holocaust Garden of Hope pays tribute to the
26- lives of those affected by the Holocaust and seeks to highlight the
27- stories of victims, survivors, rescuers, and repentant descendants
28- of Nazi perpetrators; these accounts of resilience, hope, and
29- bravery are sure to evoke in visitors a profound admiration for the
30- Jewish people and their history and to inspire future generations
31- to defend their existence and to value Jewish life; now, therefore,
32- be it
32+ lives of those affected by the Holocaust and seeks to highlight
33+ the stories of victims, survivors, rescuers, and repentant
34+ descendants of Nazi perpetrators; these accounts of resilience,
35+ hope, and bravery are sure to evoke in visitors a profound
36+ admiration for the Jewish people and their history and to inspire

3339 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
3440 Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend the Holocaust
3541 Remembrance Association on its invaluable contributions to the
3642 betterment of our society and extend to all who have contributed
3743 to the Holocaust Garden of Hope best wishes for a day of
3844 reflection and healing; and, be it further
3945 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
4046 honor of this special occasion.
