55 WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Suzanne Linbeck
66 Reynolds of Houston were deeply saddened by her passing on
77 January 18, 2023, at the age of 85; and
88 WHEREAS, The daughter of Leo Edward Linbeck and Patti Ruth
99 Maloney Linbeck, the former Suzanne Linbeck was born in Houston on
1010 July 29, 1937; she grew up with a brother, Leo, and a sister,
1111 Patricia "Poppy," and attended St. Anne Catholic School, St. Agnes
1212 Academy, St. Mary's College, Barat College, and the University of
1313 St. Thomas; and
1414 WHEREAS, She married the love of her life, Frank Fisher
1515 Reynolds Jr., on September 7, 1959; they became the proud parents
1616 of five children, Frank, Stephen, Kent, Suzanne, and Andrea, and
1717 provided them with a foundation of strong faith; eventually,
1818 Mrs. Reynolds was blessed with 12 grandchildren, and she instilled
1919 in them the same enduring values; her greatest delight was spending
2020 time with her loved ones, and she especially enjoyed shopping with
2121 her grandchildren for their birthdays and attending their school
2222 events; she shared a fulfilling marriage of 54 years with her
2323 husband until his passing; and
2424 WHEREAS, A devout, longtime member of St. Anne and Holy
2525 Rosary Parishes, Mrs. Reynolds belonged to the Knights of the
2626 Holy Sepulchre, the Knights of Malta, St. Anne's Guild, and the
2727 Charity Guild of Catholic Women; moreover, she was a founder and
2828 leader in both Houston Right to Life and Texas Right to Life; she
2929 also served on the board of the University of St. Thomas; and
3030 WHEREAS, Although Suzanne Reynolds is sadly missed, her
3131 steadfast commitment to her family and her faith will forever
3232 remain a source of inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to
3333 know her; now, therefore, be it
3434 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
3535 Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
3636 Suzanne Linbeck Reynolds and extend sincere sympathy to the members
3737 of her family: to her children, Frank Fisher Reynolds III and his
3838 wife, Maria, the Reverend Stephen Bartlett Reynolds, Kent Linbeck
3939 Reynolds and his wife, Alissa, Suzanne "Muffet" Reynolds Laine and
4040 her husband, Matthew, and Andrea Leigh Reynolds; to her
4141 grandchildren, Fisher Reynolds IV and his wife, Brooke, Kayla
4242 Tompkins, Stephen, Carmen, Rebecca, Virginia, Thomas, and John
4343 Reynolds, Reid, Caroline, and Charles Laine, and Matthew Laine Jr.;
4444 to her great-grandchild, Jacqueline Reynolds; to her
4545 brothers-in-law, Peter Doyle, Norman Reynolds and his wife, Sally,
4646 and Richard Reynolds and his wife, Susie; to her sisters-in-law,
4747 Bette Linbeck and Judy Brand; and to her many other relatives and
4848 friends; and, be it further
4949 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
5050 prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
5151 this day, it do so in memory of Suzanne Reynolds.
