| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Val LaMantia, who is being inducted into the Texas |

| 4 | 4 | | Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding accomplishments in the |

| 5 | 5 | | field of business; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Governor's Commission for Women established the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Texas Women's Hall of Fame in 1984 to recognize extraordinary Texas |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | women who have made significant contributions to the Lone Star |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | State in the fields of the arts, athletics, business, education, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | philanthropy, public service, and science and technology; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Exceptional women from across the state are |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | nominated biennially by their fellow Texans and selected by an |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | independent panel of judges for induction into the Texas Women's |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Hall of Fame; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Val LaMantia is being honored in recognition of her |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | business leadership and her philanthropic endeavors; she is the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | owner and managing partner of a beverage distribution company and a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | founding member of the STARS Scholarship Fund that has served |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | nearly 20,000 students in South and West Texas; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Val will be recognized at the 2023 Texas Women's |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Hall of Fame induction ceremony on November 9, 2023, in Austin; a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | woman of wisdom and integrity, she is truly deserving of being |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | honored for her generosity of spirit and for her many |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Val LaMantia on |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | her induction into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame and extend to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | her best wishes for continued success in all her future |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
