SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 7 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Val LaMantia, who is being inducted into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding accomplishments in the field of business; and WHEREAS, The Governor's Commission for Women established the Texas Women's Hall of Fame in 1984 to recognize extraordinary Texas women who have made significant contributions to the Lone Star State in the fields of the arts, athletics, business, education, philanthropy, public service, and science and technology; and WHEREAS, Exceptional women from across the state are nominated biennially by their fellow Texans and selected by an independent panel of judges for induction into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame; and WHEREAS, Val LaMantia is being honored in recognition of her business leadership and her philanthropic endeavors; she is the owner and managing partner of a beverage distribution company and a founding member of the STARS Scholarship Fund that has served nearly 20,000 students in South and West Texas; and WHEREAS, Val will be recognized at the 2023 Texas Women's Hall of Fame induction ceremony on November 9, 2023, in Austin; a woman of wisdom and integrity, she is truly deserving of being honored for her generosity of spirit and for her many achievements; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Val LaMantia on her induction into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame and extend to her best wishes for continued success in all her future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
