5- WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Gregory Raymond
6- Byrne of Dallas were deeply saddened by his passing on October 1,

8- WHEREAS, Born in Hamilton, Ohio, on July 9, 1955, Greg
9- Byrne was the son of Raymond and Melba Byrne; he graduated from
10- Badin High School in 1973 and subsequently began studies at
11- Cincinnati Technical College; when his father fell ill, he went
12- to work full-time and helped take care of his family; and

6+ WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Gregory Raymond Byrne
7+ of Dallas were deeply saddened by his passing on October 1, 2023, at
8+ the age of 68; and
9+ WHEREAS, Born in Hamilton, Ohio, on July 9, 1955, Greg Byrne
10+ was the son of Raymond and Melba Byrne; he graduated from Badin High
11+ School in 1973 and subsequently began studies at Cincinnati
12+ Technical College; when his father fell ill, he went to work
13+ full-time and helped take care of his family; and
1314 WHEREAS, Over the course of a varied career, Mr. Byrne was
1415 employed with a car dealership in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, before
1516 owning and operating a repo business for a number of years; he then
1617 worked on a horse ranch in Colorado until returning home to care for
1718 his mother; following her passing, he relocated to New Orleans and
1819 found work as a bouncer on Bourbon Street; several years later, he
1920 moved to North Texas and was hired as a park ranger with the City of
2021 Dallas, a position he held until his retirement in 2016; along the
2122 way, he served as a Dallas County election clerk for many years and
2223 went on to become an election judge; and
2324 WHEREAS, Mr. Byrne met his wife, Juliana, in 2007; they
2425 shared a rewarding relationship that spanned 16 years, and he had
25- the pleasure of welcoming into his family a stepson, Alberto; in
26- his leisure time, he was an avid sports fan and rooted for the

2829 man of faith, he held a number of leadership positions at his

3132 WHEREAS, Although Greg Byrne is greatly missed, he has left
3233 his loved ones with a wealth of memories that they will forever
3334 cherish; now, therefore, be it
34- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
35- Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life
36- of Gregory Raymond Byrne and extend sincere sympathy to the
37- members of his family: to his wife, Juliana Martinez; to his
38- stepson, Alberto Martinez, and his fiancée, Rose; and to his
39- other relatives and friends; and, be it further
35+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 4th
36+ Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Gregory Raymond
37+ Byrne and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to
38+ his wife, Juliana Martinez; to his stepson, Alberto Martinez, and
39+ his fiancée, Rose; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be
