2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

3 | 3 | | recognize Robert Vasquez on his distinguished career in law |
---|
4 | 4 | | enforcement and on his exemplary contributions to public safety |
---|
5 | 5 | | in South Texas; and |
---|
6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Robert Vasquez is a decorated peace officer with |
---|
7 | 7 | | more than four decades of experience in law enforcement, and he |
---|
8 | 8 | | has served his country and his community with great courage and |
---|
9 | 9 | | distinction throughout his remarkable career; and |
---|
10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Robert served in the United States Air Force for |
---|
11 | 11 | | 10 years and served overseas in Operations Desert Shield and |
---|
12 | 12 | | Desert Storm; after his military service, he attended the |
---|
13 | 13 | | Regional Police Academy and became licensed as a Texas Peace |
---|
14 | 14 | | Officer; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his law enforcement career, he |
---|
16 | 16 | | has served the police departments of Bishop and Orange Grove and |
---|
17 | 17 | | the sheriff's offices of Nueces, Kleberg, and Jim Wells Counties; |
---|
18 | 18 | | he was elected constable of Jim Wells County Precinct 5 in 2013; |
---|
19 | 19 | | and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In his two terms as constable, Robert |
---|
21 | 21 | | collaborated with federal and local law enforcement agencies to |
---|
22 | 22 | | build a more secure community; for his exceptional efforts, he |
---|
23 | 23 | | was twice named Constable of the Year and was recognized by the |
---|
24 | 24 | | National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for his |
---|
25 | 25 | | involvement with the Missing Kids Readiness Program; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Beloved and respected in his community, Robert is |
---|
27 | 27 | | a master peace officer and serves as an investigator with the |
---|
28 | 28 | | 79th Judicial District Attorney's Office; his heroism, |
---|
29 | 29 | | integrity, and commitment to protecting others serve as an |
---|
30 | 30 | | example to his fellow public servants and are a source of |
---|
31 | 31 | | inspiration to our state's current and future community leaders; |
---|
32 | 32 | | now, therefore, be it |
---|
33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
---|
34 | 34 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Robert Vasquez |
---|
35 | 35 | | on his dedicated service to our country and to the Lone Star State |
---|
36 | 36 | | and extend to him best wishes for success in all of his endeavors; |
