                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 83
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Robert Vasquez on his distinguished career in law
 enforcement and on his exemplary contributions to public safety
 in South Texas; and
 WHEREAS, Robert Vasquez is a decorated peace officer with
 more than four decades of experience in law enforcement, and he
 has served his country and his community with great courage and
 distinction throughout his remarkable career; and
 WHEREAS, Robert served in the United States Air Force for
 10 years and served overseas in Operations Desert Shield and
 Desert Storm; after his military service, he attended the
 Regional Police Academy and became licensed as a Texas Peace
 Officer; and
 WHEREAS, Over the course of his law enforcement career, he
 has served the police departments of Bishop and Orange Grove and
 the sheriff's offices of Nueces, Kleberg, and Jim Wells Counties;
 he was elected constable of Jim Wells County Precinct 5 in 2013;
 and
 WHEREAS, In his two terms as constable, Robert
 collaborated with federal and local law enforcement agencies to
 build a more secure community; for his exceptional efforts, he
 was twice named Constable of the Year and was recognized by the
 National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for his
 involvement with the Missing Kids Readiness Program; and
 WHEREAS, Beloved and respected in his community, Robert is
 a master peace officer and serves as an investigator with the
 79th Judicial District Attorney's Office; his heroism,
 integrity, and commitment to protecting others serve as an
 example to his fellow public servants and are a source of
 inspiration to our state's current and future community leaders;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
 Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Robert Vasquez
 on his dedicated service to our country and to the Lone Star State
 and extend to him best wishes for success in all of his endeavors;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
