9 | 9 | | relating to the amount of an expenditure that may be paid by an |

10 | 10 | | emergency services district employee without board approval. |

11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Section 775.073(b), Health and Safety Code, is |
---|
13 | 13 | | amended to read as follows: |
---|
14 | 14 | | (b) The board by resolution may allow a district employee |
---|
15 | 15 | | who has executed a bond in an amount equal to the amount required |
---|
16 | 16 | | for the district treasurer to sign an instrument to disburse |
---|
17 | 17 | | district funds. An expenditure of more than $50,000 [$2,000] may |
---|
18 | 18 | | not be paid unless the expenditure is presented to the board and the |
---|
19 | 19 | | board approves the expenditure. |
---|
20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
---|
21 | 21 | | to a purchase made on or after the effective date of this Act. A |
---|
22 | 22 | | purchase made before the effective date of this Act is governed by |
---|
23 | 23 | | the law as it existed immediately before the effective date of this |
---|
24 | 24 | | Act, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose. |

25 | 25 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
