| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 273.001, Election Code, is amended by | |
| 12 | 12 | adding subsection (f) to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (f) An offense under this code does not apply to person who | |
| 14 | 14 | is a peace officer or prosecutor of this state engaged in an | |
| 15 | 15 | investigation or prosecution of a violation of a law under this | |
| 16 | 16 | code, when conduct is: | |
| 17 | 17 | (1) authorized by the person's law enforcement agency, | |
| 18 | 18 | and | |
| 19 | 19 | (2) in furtherance of an official investigation. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
