| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 392, Local Government | |
| 12 | 12 | Code, is amended by adding Section 392.068 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 392.068. DISPOSITION OF RENTAL PAYMENTS. A housing | |
| 14 | 14 | authority shall apply a rental payment received from a tenant to any | |
| 15 | 15 | current or delinquent rent owed by the tenant before the authority | |
| 16 | 16 | may apply the payment to other charges, fees, or expenses owed by | |
| 17 | 17 | the tenant, including maintenance or utility charges. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
