| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 437.002(b), Government Code, is amended | |

| 14 | 14 | (b) If the governor is unable to perform the duties of | |
| 15 | 15 | commander-in-chief, the successor to the governor's authority as | |
| 16 | 16 | provided by the state constitution or other state law [adjutant | |
| 17 | 17 | general] shall command the Texas military forces[, unless the state | |
| 18 | 18 | constitution or other state law requires the lieutenant governor or | |
| 19 | 19 | the president of the senate to perform the duties of governor]. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
