| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 1111.051(b), Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |

| 15 | 15 | | (b) Managers [Unless four-year terms are established under |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Section 285.081, Health and Safety Code, managers] serve staggered |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | four-year [two-year] terms with the terms of two or three managers |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | expiring each even-numbered year as appropriate. |

| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 2. Section 1111.108(a), Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (a) The district through the board may lease all or part of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the district's property, including the buildings and facilities |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | comprising the hospital system, to any person on terms considered |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | to be in the district's best interest. The term of a lease may not |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | exceed 80 [40] years. |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
