| 12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 436, Government Code, is | |
| 14 | 14 | amended by adding Section 436.2025 to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | Sec. 436.2025. ALLOCATION OF CERTAIN GRANT MONEY. The | |
| 16 | 16 | commission shall allocate at least 20 percent of the money | |
| 17 | 17 | appropriated for grants under this subchapter in each state fiscal | |
| 18 | 18 | year to: | |
| 19 | 19 | (1) counties that are eligible local governmental | |
| 20 | 20 | entities and have a population of less than 50,000; and | |
| 21 | 21 | (2) eligible local governmental entities that are | |
| 22 | 22 | located in counties described by Subdivision (1). | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
