A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the allocation of money appropriated to the Texas
Military Preparedness Commission for the purpose of making certain
grants.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 436, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 436.2025 to read as follows:
Sec. 436.2025. ALLOCATION OF CERTAIN GRANT MONEY. The
commission shall allocate at least 20 percent of the money
appropriated for grants under this subchapter in each state fiscal
year to:
(1) counties that are eligible local governmental
entities and have a population of less than 50,000; and
(2) eligible local governmental entities that are
located in counties described by Subdivision (1).
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
