A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the prohibited administration of a vaccine containing
mRNA material to certain animals intended for human consumption.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 161, Agriculture Code, is
amended by adding Section 161.0425 to read as follows:
Sec. 161.0425. PROHIBITED ADMINISTRATION OF VACCINE
CONTAINING MRNA MATERIAL. (a) In this section, "mRNA material"
means a substance that introduces messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA)
corresponding to a viral protein.
(b) The commission shall adopt rules to prohibit the
administration of a vaccine containing mRNA material to livestock
and domestic fowl intended for human consumption.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
