| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 48, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | amended by adding Section 48.316 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 48.316. ADDITIONAL STATE AID FOR CERTAIN |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | PREKINDERGARTEN PROGRAMS. A school district is entitled to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | additional state aid in an amount equal to the difference, if the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | difference is greater than zero, between: |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (1) the amount necessary to fully compensate the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | district for operating costs for prekindergarten classes provided |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | through a contract with a community-based child-care provider under |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Section 29.153(g), a private entity under Section 29.1532, or an |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | eligible private provider under Section 29.171, including costs |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | associated with staffing, instructional materials, facilities, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | curriculum requirements; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (2) the amount to which the district is otherwise |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | entitled under this chapter for students in average daily |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | attendance in a prekindergarten class described by Subdivision (1). |

| 28 | 28 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
