A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the eligibility of a service member or veteran of the
United States armed forces to participate in a veterans treatment
court program based on citizenship status.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 124.002, Government Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows:
(c-1) Access to a veterans treatment court program may not
be limited or denied to any veteran or member of the United States
armed forces under Subsection (a) solely based on the veteran's or
member's citizenship status.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
