| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 6.035, Tax Code, is amended by adding | |
| 13 | 13 | Subsection (a-2) to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (a-2) An individual is ineligible to serve in an appointive | |
| 15 | 15 | position on an appraisal district board of directors if the | |
| 16 | 16 | individual holds an elective office. An individual is ineligible | |
| 17 | 17 | to serve in an elective position on an appraisal district board of | |
| 18 | 18 | directors if the individual holds another elective office. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. Section 6.035(a-2), Tax Code, as added by this | |
| 20 | 20 | Act, does not affect the eligibility of a person serving on the | |
| 21 | 21 | board of directors of an appraisal district immediately before the | |
| 22 | 22 | effective date of this Act to continue to serve on the board for the | |
| 23 | 23 | term to which the person was appointed or elected. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
