 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
relating to the payment of an award for certain health care expenses
under the Crime Victims' Compensation Act.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Article 56B.104, Code of Criminal Procedure, is
amended by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
 (e) Notwithstanding any other law, not later than the 10th
day after the date on which an application for compensation
described by Article 56B.051 is filed, the attorney general shall
award compensation to the victim or claimant in the amount of any
copays paid for health care services obtained as a result of the
 criminally injurious conduct.
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
to an application for compensation under Chapter 56B, Code of
Criminal Procedure, filed on or after the effective date of this

 that purpose.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
