 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to the composition of the 22nd Judicial District, the
 creation of an additional judicial district composed of Hays
 County, and the composition of the Hays County Juvenile Board.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  The heading to Section 24.123, Government Code,
 is amended to read as follows:
 Sec. 24.123.  22ND JUDICIAL DISTRICT ([CALDWELL,] COMAL
 COUNTY [, AND HAYS COUNTIES]).
 SECTION 2.  Sections 24.123(a) and (c), Government Code, are
 amended to read as follows:
 (a)  The 22nd Judicial District is composed of [Caldwell,]
 Comal County [, and Hays counties].
 (c)  The terms of the 22nd District Court begin [:
 [(1)  in Caldwell County on the first Mondays in March,
 June, September, and December;
 [(2)  in Comal County] on the first Mondays in April,
 July, October, and January [; and
 [(3)  in Hays County on the first Mondays in February,
 May, August, and November].
 SECTION 3.  Subchapter C, Chapter 24, Government Code, is
 amended by adding Section 24.60050 to read as follows:
 Sec. 24.60050.  508TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (HAYS COUNTY). The
 508th Judicial District is composed of Hays County.
 SECTION 4.  Section 152.1111(a), Human Resources Code, is
 amended to read as follows:
 (a)  The juvenile board of Hays County is composed of the
 county judge, the administrative judge of the Hays County District
 Court [district judge of the 22nd judicial district], the judges of
 the county court at law, the county sheriff, and the criminal
 district attorney.
 SECTION 5.  (a)  The local administrative district judge
 shall transfer to:
 (1)  the 508th District Court all cases from Hays
 County that are pending in the 22nd District Court on the effective
 date of this Act; and
 (2)  the 207th District Court all cases from Caldwell
 County that are pending in the 22nd District Court on the effective
 date of this Act.
 (b)  When a case is transferred as provided by Subsection (a)
 of this section:
 (1)  all processes, writs, bonds, recognizances, or
 other obligations issued from the 22nd District Court are
 returnable to the district court to which the case is transferred as
 if originally issued by that court; and
 (2)  the obligees on all bonds and recognizances taken
 in and for the 22nd District Court and all witnesses summoned to
 appear in the 22nd District Court are required to appear before the
 district court to which the case is transferred as if originally
 required to appear before that court.
 SECTION 6.  The 508th Judicial District is created on the
 effective date of this Act.
 SECTION 7.  This Act takes effect September 30, 2027.
