| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 264.121, Family Code, is amended by | |
| 13 | 13 | adding Subsection (a-8) to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (a-8) The department shall allow a former foster care youth | |
| 15 | 15 | to participate in the Preparation for Adult Living Program until | |
| 16 | 16 | the youth's 25th birthday. A former foster care youth may return to | |
| 17 | 17 | the program as necessary to complete the program. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
