A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to eligibility for the Preparation for Adult Living
Program for former foster youth.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 264.121, Family Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (a-8) to read as follows:
(a-8) The department shall allow a former foster care youth
to participate in the Preparation for Adult Living Program until
the youth's 25th birthday. A former foster care youth may return to
the program as necessary to complete the program.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
