A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to toll service fees charged by vehicle rental companies.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 91, Business & Commerce
Code, is amended by adding Section 91.0551 to read as follows:
Sec. 91.0551. TOLL SERVICE FEES. (a) Subject to Subsection
(b), a rental company may charge a renter a service fee for the use
of a toll road in the rental vehicle that does not exceed $5 per day.
(b) A fee charged under this section may not exceed the
amount of the total tolls incurred during the term of the rental
agreement.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
