| 8 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Sec. 803.0021. APPLICATION OF CHAPTER. This |

| 10 | 12 | | chapter applies only to: |
|---|
| 11 | 13 | | (1) a retirement system for general municipal |
|---|
| 12 | 14 | | employees in a municipality with a population of not less than |
|---|
| 13 | 15 | | 900,000 [950,000] nor more than 1,050,000; |
|---|
| 14 | 16 | | (2) the Employees Retirement System of Texas, the |
|---|
| 15 | 17 | | Teacher Retirement System of Texas, the Judicial Retirement System |
|---|
| 16 | 18 | | of Texas Plan One, the Judicial Retirement System of Texas Plan Two, |
|---|
| 17 | 19 | | the Texas County and District Retirement System, and the Texas |
|---|
| 18 | 20 | | Municipal Retirement System; and |
|---|
| 19 | 21 | | (3) a retirement system that makes an election under |
|---|
| 20 | 22 | | Section 803.101(f). |
|---|
| 21 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
