| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 33, Education Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 33.025 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 33.025. LIBRARIANS. (a) Each school district and | |
| 14 | 14 | open-enrollment charter school shall ensure that a librarian is | |
| 15 | 15 | present during at least half of each school day at each district or | |
| 16 | 16 | school campus. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) The commissioner shall adopt rules as necessary to | |
| 18 | 18 | implement this section. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2026-2027 | |
| 20 | 20 | school year. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
