A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to prohibiting a fee for a parent-taught driver education
instructor designation.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Sec. 1001.112(f), Education Code, is amended to
read as follows:
(f) The department may not charge a fee for:
(1) the submission of proof of:
(A) [(1)] completion of a course conducted under
this section; or
(B) [(2)] passage of an examination administered
under Subsection (e);
(2) an application for designation as a person
eligible to provide parent-taught driver education; or
(3) designation as a person eligible to provide
parent-taught driver education.
Section 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
