11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 53.021, Occupations Code, is amended by | |
13 | 13 | adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (b-1) A licensing authority shall revoke a license, | |
15 | 15 | disqualify a person from receiving a license, or deny to a person | |
16 | 16 | the opportunity to take a licensing examination on the grounds that | |
17 | 17 | the person has been convicted of any offense under federal law. | |
18 | 18 | SECTION 2. Section 53.021, Occupations Code, as amended by | |
19 | 19 | this Act, applies only to conduct that occurs on or after the | |
20 | 20 | effective date of this Act. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
