77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to the powers and duties of the Far North Fort Worth
1010 Municipal Utility District No. 1 of Tarrant and Wise Counties;
1111 providing authority to impose a tax and issue bonds.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 8011, Special District
1414 Local Laws Code, is amended by adding Section 8011.055 to read as
1515 follows:
1616 Sec. 8011.055. AUTHORITY TO ESTABLISH DEFINED AREAS OR
1717 DESIGNATED PROPERTY. Notwithstanding the acreage requirement
1818 under Section 54.801(a), Water Code, the district may define areas
1919 or designate certain property of the district and impose taxes and
2020 issue bonds in the defined area or designated property as provided
2121 by Subchapter J, Chapter 54, Water Code, to pay for improvements,
2222 facilities, or services that primarily benefit that area or
2323 property and do not generally and directly benefit the district as a
2424 whole. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a defined area
2525 may include a noncontiguous tract.
2626 SECTION 2. The Far North Fort Worth Municipal Utility
2727 District No. 1 of Tarrant and Wise Counties retains all rights,
2828 powers, privileges, authority, duties, and functions that it had
2929 before the effective date of this Act.
3030 SECTION 3. (a) The legal notice of the intention to
3131 introduce this Act, setting forth the general substance of this
3232 Act, has been published as provided by law, and the notice and a
3333 copy of this Act have been furnished to all persons, agencies,
3434 officials, or entities to which they are required to be furnished
3535 under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and Chapter 313,
3636 Government Code.
3737 (b) The governor, one of the required recipients, has
3838 submitted the notice and Act to the Texas Commission on
3939 Environmental Quality.
4040 (c) The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has filed
4141 its recommendations relating to this Act with the governor, the
4242 lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of
4343 representatives within the required time.
4444 (d) All requirements of the constitution and laws of this
4545 state and the rules and procedures of the legislature with respect
4646 to the notice, introduction, and passage of this Act are fulfilled
4747 and accomplished.
4848 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
4949 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
5050 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
5151 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
5252 Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
