12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 34, Health and Safety Code, is amended by |
---|
14 | 14 | | adding Section 34.0085 to read as follows: |

15 | 15 | | Sec. 34.0085. CASE INFORMATION EXCEPTED FROM PROFESSIONAL |
---|
16 | 16 | | REPORTING REQUIREMENTS. Notwithstanding any other law and for |
---|
17 | 17 | | purposes of this chapter, a health care provider, including a |
---|
18 | 18 | | nurse, who during the review of information relevant to a case |
---|
19 | 19 | | selected for review under this chapter learns of conduct related to |
---|
20 | 20 | | the provider's profession that is subject to a reporting |
---|
21 | 21 | | requirement is exempt from that reporting requirement for the |
---|
22 | 22 | | reviewed information. |
---|
23 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
24 | 24 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
25 | 25 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
26 | 26 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
27 | 27 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
