12 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

13 | 11 | | SECTION 1. (a) The Public Utility Commission of Texas shall |
---|
14 | 12 | | study: |
---|
15 | 13 | | (1) the impacts of existing interconnections of |
---|
16 | 14 | | electric transmission service facilities in this state with |
---|
17 | 15 | | electric transmission service facilities in the United Mexican |
---|
18 | 16 | | States, including impacts on transmission and distribution |
---|
19 | 17 | | networks and retail customers in this state and in the United |
---|
20 | 18 | | Mexican States; and |
---|
21 | 19 | | (2) the potential impacts of establishing new |
---|
22 | 20 | | interconnections described by Subdivision (1), including impacts |
---|
23 | 21 | | on transmission and distribution networks and retail customers in |
---|
24 | 22 | | this state and in the United Mexican States. |
---|
25 | 23 | | (b) Not later than September 1, 2026, the Public Utility |
---|
26 | 24 | | Commission of Texas shall submit a report on the results of the |
---|
27 | 25 | | study to the legislature. |
---|
28 | 26 | | (c) This Act expires December 31, 2026. |
---|
29 | 27 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
