| 7 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Each year, more than 3,000 weddings take place in |

|---|
| 9 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country |

| 10 | 15 | | provides an ideal setting for joyous celebrations of matrimony, and |

| 11 | 16 | | the Dripping Springs area is home to over 30 event venues of all |

| 12 | 17 | | styles and sizes, among them wineries, ranches, and picturesque |

| 13 | 18 | | sites along waterways such as Onion Creek; and |
|---|
| 14 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Due to the popularity of Dripping Springs as a |

| 15 | 20 | | destination for nuptials, the hospitality industry has become well |
|---|
| 16 | 21 | | established; the city's business community includes a wide range of |
|---|
| 17 | 22 | | overnight accommodations for guests, as well as florists, caterers, |
|---|
| 18 | 23 | | bakeries, and other companies offering wedding services; and |
|---|
| 19 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Countless couples have selected Dripping Springs as |
|---|
| 20 | 25 | | the perfect spot to exchange the vows of matrimony and embark on a |
|---|
| 21 | 26 | | new life journey together in the presence of family and friends, and |
|---|
| 22 | 27 | | local residents take pride in the role their community plays in |
|---|
| 23 | 28 | | supporting the institution of marriage; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas |

| 25 | 30 | | hereby redesignate Dripping Springs as the official Wedding Capital |
|---|
| 26 | 31 | | of Texas; and, be it further |

| 27 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That in accordance with the provisions of |

|---|
