| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |

| 9 | 9 | | mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Harvey Tevis Herd and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Patricia Parker Herd of Midland celebrated this joyous milestone in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | their marriage on August 28, 2024; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Tevis and Patricia Herd were joined in matrimony in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 1964; they were blessed with three children, Holly, John, and the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | late Daniel Parker Herd, and over the years, their family has grown |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | to include four grandchildren, Austin, Carrie, Callie, and Kathryn, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and two great-grandchildren, Owen and Juan; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Mrs. Herd have given generously of their time, talents, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | resources to numerous organizations, including The Springboard |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Center, High Sky Children's Ranch, and the Chaparral Foundation, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and they helped establish the Daniel Parker Herd Scholarship at |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Tarleton State University in 1999; a retired attorney, Mr. Herd has |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | been actively involved in the Abell-Hanger Foundation, the FMH |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Foundation, the Midland Memorial Hospital executive committee, The |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Fasken Foundation, and the Trinity School of Midland as a volunteer |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | coach for track and field; Mrs. Herd has benefited her community |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | through her work with the Permian Basin Area Foundation, the Junior |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | League, and the PTA, as well as through her service as a community |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Bible study assistant prayer minister; widely respected for their |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | philanthropy, the couple are also valued congregants of Christ |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Church Anglican; and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Herd have enjoyed six decades of |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas |

| 37 | 37 | | hereby congratulate Harvey Tevis Herd and Patricia Parker Herd on |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |

| 40 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 41 | 41 | | prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Herd as an expression of high regard by |
