No. 66 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Harvey Tevis Herd and Patricia Parker Herd of Midland celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on August 28, 2024; and WHEREAS, Tevis and Patricia Herd were joined in matrimony in 1964; they were blessed with three children, Holly, John, and the late Daniel Parker Herd, and over the years, their family has grown to include four grandchildren, Austin, Carrie, Callie, and Kathryn, and two great-grandchildren, Owen and Juan; and WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. Herd have given generously of their time, talents, and resources to numerous organizations, including The Springboard Center, High Sky Children's Ranch, and the Chaparral Foundation, and they helped establish the Daniel Parker Herd Scholarship at Tarleton State University in 1999; a retired attorney, Mr. Herd has been actively involved in the Abell-Hanger Foundation, the FMH Foundation, the Midland Memorial Hospital executive committee, The Fasken Foundation, and the Trinity School of Midland as a volunteer coach for track and field; Mrs. Herd has benefited her community through her work with the Permian Basin Area Foundation, the Junior League, and the PTA, as well as through her service as a community Bible study assistant prayer minister; widely respected for their philanthropy, the couple are also valued congregants of Christ Church Anglican; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Herd have enjoyed six decades of abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby congratulate Harvey Tevis Herd and Patricia Parker Herd on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Herd as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
