| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Phillip J. Curry of McMillen High School has been |

| 9 | 9 | | nominated for the 2025 Plano Independent School District Secondary |

| 10 | 10 | | Teacher of the Year award; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Curry has enjoyed a rewarding tenure with Plano |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | ISD that has spanned 15 years; he has served various district |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | campuses, and he currently teaches American Sign Language at |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | McMillen High; a native of California, he has lived in Texas since |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 2008; and |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Phillip Curry exemplifies the passion, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all |

| 23 | 23 | | in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Phillip J. Curry on his nomination |
